DramaQueen 4.4 – Update Report

This update includes a new feature for DramaQueeen PLUS and PRO as well as improvements.

NEW FEATURE: AI SUMMARIES – FOR PLUS AND PRO

  • In DramaQueen PLUS and PRO, you can now let the AI generate summaries. The options are available in the ‘Overview’ and ‘Board’ panels. To use this feature, the AI integration must be activated.
  • Specifically, three individual functions are available:
    • Generate all summaries with one click. Existing summaries remain unchanged (gear option ‘Generate AI summaries for existing steps/scenes’).
    • Regenerate a specific summary on demand – when the content of the scene has changed or when individual summaries are not yet fitting. This process can be repeated multiple times (context menu option ‘Regenerate summary’ / right-click).
    • Continuously generate summaries when new steps/scenes are added (option ‘Generate AI summaries for newly added steps/scenes’).

IMPROVEMENTS

  • The most well-known Asian narrative structure ‘QǐChéngZhuǎnHé’ has been added as a story model in DramaQueen PRO. The option is located in the gear menu of the Overview and Board panels under ‘Configure structure…’ -> ‘Choose structure model’ -> ‘Start with template (selection of story models)’
  • When transferring the Plot to the next Text level, DramaQueen can now automatically divide the steps into scenes. Based on various identifying symbols that imply a scene change, the mechanism decides whether the criteria for a scene change are met and divides a step into its individual scenes accordingly. (Individual sentences are never split in the process.) Specifically, DramaQueen recognizes keywords that occur when there is a change of location, time, or character. Line breaks are also counted as scene changes. This option is active when the ‘Automatically divide steps into scenes’ box is checked.
  • The typewriter mode now works more reliably on the last page and prevents disruptive jittering through intelligent scroll deactivation.
  • The background color of the notes area in dark mode has been changed from yellow to black.
  • When you copy text into the Annotations panel, the text background color is no longer copied.
  • When exporting a script to Final Draft, the ‘Hide Outline in Script’ option is now activated, so that the scene summaries are no longer displayed directly in the script by default, but are hidden.
  • Example documents for ‘Radio Play / Audio Drama’ and ‘Stage Play’ are also available now.
