DramaQueen 4.2 – Update Report

This update includes new features and improvements.

NEW FEATURE: STORY MODELS

• In DramaQueen PRO, 35 new story models are now available as structure templates. The new options are located in the gear menu of the Overview and Board panels under ‘Configure structure…’ -> ‘Choose structure model’ -> ‘Start with template (selection of story models)’. After selecting the desired story model (‘Apply template’), you can adapt the template to your own story and customize the names and number of structure elements.
• Configuring your own structure models (‘Free Model’ option) in DramaQueen PRO is now easier and faster: It is no longer necessary to add each structure element individually. Instead, you can create up to 12 elements at once.
• In DramaQueen PRO, it is now possible to duplicate a structure model. When plotting a series, you can, for example, use the hero’s journey multiple times, i.e., for each individual volume or episode. The option is also available in the ‘Choose structure model’ dropdown: ‘Duplicate current model’.
• In DramaQueen PLUS, you can now also create and customize free models: The number and names of structure elements (e.g., acts, stages, beats, etc.) can be configured. Structure elements can also be added or deleted. The ‘Hero’s Journey (classic)’ template can also be customized in this way.
• In DramaQueen PLUS and PRO, structure elements can now be flexibly formatted. The following settings are available: bold, italic, underlined, all caps, text color, background color; reset
  formatting.
• The default formatting of the structure elements has been changed from bold to ‘italic / text background light yellow’ to distinguish the structure from the steps.

IMPROVEMENTS

• With the options ‘Text beginnings’ and ‘Entered summaries, otherwise text beginnings’ options, all text elements are now taken into account for novel, radio play, and stage documents.
• The EPUB export of radio plays, stage plays and screenplays has been improved.
• The print in dark mode is now black on white.
• Unnecessary spaces can now be removed. This option is located in the gear menu of the Text panel under ‘Clean Formatting’.
• During PDF import unnecessary spaces are now automatically removed.
• More tags icons have been added (Tragicomic; Revenge, Mourning / Loss, Turning point). The tags icons can be enabled or displayed via the gear menu of the Overview and Board panels (‘Tags’ option).
• In the header of the Text panel, the names of the elements of the text level (e.g., “Steps” or “Scenes”) are now displayed behind the gear icon.
• Automatic backups are now marked with “(Backup)” in the window title after the file name to make them easier to distinguish.
