DramaQueen 4.1 – Update-Report

This update contains new features and improvements

NEW FEATURES

  • Seven new text elements are available for Novel texts:
    • Letter
    • Chat message left
    • Chat message right
    • Flashback/Flashforward
    • Memory
    • Dream
    • Separator
  • In the layout settings, each text element can be laid out separately.
  • The additional heading levels have been converted into freely usable text elements. These ‘free to use’ text elements are available in the Text elements dropdown in the Text panel toolbar.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • It is now possible to select new characters, locations and world elements in the Text panel and create them using the corresponding option in the context menu. The new element is immediately sorted into the correct panel and the panel is automatically opened (if it is not open). If a character name consists of two words, the first word is created as the character name and both words are entered in the ‘Full name’ section.
  • OpenAI’s latest AI models – GPT-4.1, 4.1-mini und o4-mini – are now available in DramaQueen and can be configured in the ‘Select AI Model’ menu:
    • GPT-4.1 is more powerful than its predecessor, GPT-4o, in almost every respect: faster, more accurate, and better at following instructions, with a significantly larger context window (up to 1 million tokens) and fewer hallucinations. Latency remains similar or slightly lower, and costs are around 20% lower for both input and output tokens.
    • GPT-4.1-mini is better, twice as fast, and overall slightly more cost-effective than its predecessor, GPT-4o-mini. It offers similar performance, is faster, and approximately 33% cheaper than GPT-4o, and also has a context window several times larger, up to 1 million tokens.
    • o4-mini is a reasoning model characterized by a high level of understanding of context and intention, can perform multi-stage reasoning processes, and analyze complex problems.
  • ‘Revise with AI’ now offers the option to select and apply actions directly. All actions previously created and saved in the dialog appear in the ‘Revise with AI’ menu and have a submenu:
    • The ‘Open dialog’ option opens the ‘Revise with AI’ dialog with the set action (as before).
    • The ‘Apply directly’ option executes the action directly by revising and replacing the text according to the action.
  • The integration of the structure model into the Board and Story arcs panels has been improved:
    • If a structure model is activated, the Board panel can now display the structure elements as structure of the scenes. (If no structure model is activated, the steps are displayed as structure as before.)
    • The option ‘Structure model’ with the sub-options ‘Show structure’ and ‘Configure structure…’ is now accessible via the gear menu or the structure icon in the toolbar of the Board and Story arcs panels.
  • In the text notes area and the footnotes area there are now also options to increase or decrease the font size.
  • The ‘Select all’ option is now also available in the AI ​​Chat panel – via the ‘Edit’ main menu, the context menu and the shortcut A.
  • Added the prompts ‘Externalize emotional state’ and ‘Change the gender of a character’ for the ‘Revise with AI’ option.
